Anatomy of a Tiger
by Betsy Seeton
Picture
"For more than 1,000 years the use of tiger parts has been included in the traditional Chinese medicine regimen. Because of the tiger's strength and mythical power, the Chinese culture believes that the tiger has medicinal qualities, which helps treat chronic ailments, cure disease and replenish the body's essential energy,"  writes singlevisioninc.org.

There are many effective alternative medicinal methods and products that are tiger-free. A public information campaign must be waged to help save our tigers and other wildlife. Westerners can do their part by not buying products made with tiger ingredients. Ask your healer and apothecaries what's in the remedies you buy. More than ever, consumers are the ones who can make a difference in important ways. If the demand ends for illegal parts of tigers, rhinos, elephants, zebras and countless other endangered animals, the need to supply will dry up and these gorgeous creatures can live to grace our planet, balance our environment and feed our souls. The collage below entitled Anatomy of a Tiger is a graphic portrayal of why the tiger is rapidly headed toward extinction.

STRAIGHT FROM SINGLEVISIONINC.ORG:"The annual consumption of traditional remedies made of tiger bone, bear gall bladder, rhinoceros horn, dried geckoes and a plethora of other animal parts is of phenomenal proportions. It is believed that today at least 60 per cent of China's billion-plus inhabitants use medicines of this type.

The booming economies and personal incomes of Southeast Asia have caused demand and prices to soar, lifting the international trade in wildlife products to an estimated $6 billion-a-year business." READ MORE

Please help be part of the campaign to save our tigers and feel free to pass along Anatomy of a Tiger.

These animals embody the soul of nature in the most magical and majestic ways. The fact that human greed is driving them to extinction is wholly unacceptable and if we don't stop the illegal tiger trade before it's too late, we will face one of the planet's darkest times.
