"As you read this, millions of animals are suffering so that the clothing industry may sell coats, boots and other garments made from their fur. Some of the worst cruelty occurs on rabbit farms in Catalonia, Spain — and their furs wind up at major retailers across the United States.
Investigators went undercover, and found that rabbits on these farms live their entire lives in misery, confined to small cages with hard wires for floors.
Investigators taped conversations with distributors who sell fur from these very farms, and eight major designers were named as clients: Burberry, Dior, Armani, Louis Vuitton, Yves Saint Laurent, Marc Jacobs and Diane Von Fursten-berg.
We’re working to stop the savageness, but we need your help to do it. Please donate to help us stop the cruelty."
Indiscriminate body-crushing traps are used to capture or kill furbearing animals who are deemed a "nuisance" or who are valued only for the fur on their backs.
Once an animal is caught she may remain in the trap for several days before starving or dying from exposure. Snares are a wire noose and can cause trapped animals to slowly strangle to death. With leghold traps, an animal my chew off his own paw to escape, only to die days later from the injury." From the BornFree USA website.
