I've been working around the clock on my art and photography so haven't posted here in a while. "First Dandelion" was featured in #1 Artists of RedBubble a few days ago! Several of my other CHIPPY photos have also been featured on other RedBubble art groups, as well as some photos of children from Asia.
All proceeds from the sale of my calendars, greeting cards and prints help me run this labor of love website. Everything you see here is unpaid work! I volunteer my time because it's my passion. Please consider buying one of my art pieces. With Christmas coming up there are any number of wonderful images that would make great gifts.

I'm stuck with this cold weather and snow for months to come, so I'm trying to put a positive spin on things by finding creative ways to photograph the white stuff.
I woke to sub zero temps outside and 52 degrees inside. After stoking up the wood stove I had the temps back up to a comfy 70 in little time, but the cold water pipe in my kitchen was frozen. It took heating the cabin up to over 80 degrees with the wood stove and focusing electric heaters directly toward the frozen pipes. About six hours later it finally thawed out. And so my winter begins...!
It's a beautiful blue sky day though. Temps rose to a balmy 20 degrees above zero. It's actually fine for walking around in. Not as fine as I would choose, but ... fine enough given no choice in the matter.
This little guy greeted me this morning near the wood pile. I shot my camera through the kitchen window, so it's a little fuzzy. He looks like he's rolling up a snowball! They sure are cute, but they also will wreak havoc if they find a way inside. They're like a raccoon in that they will open anything that has food in it. My kitchen was a disaster one spring after being gone all winter. The little guy had broken everything that was glass, knocked over books from bookshelves, scattered empty food containers, and left his "markings" all over the place! I have since plugged up all potential holes he might have gotten into and have had a martin-free cabin for the past couple of years. I like that he's around if he stays in his own home -- outside!

Snapped this picture on my walk today beneath cloudless blue skies. What a magnificent winged creature!
Aside from having fun with my camera capturing images of hawks and stellar jays,I created two pages for this website today. One is about an incredible artist -- Amy Lee Segami. Click on PAINTING ON WATER. Fascinating stuff. It's a must see! Her trail blazing work is extraordinary.
I also linked Change.org to my site with a beautiful photograph of a spiral staircase courtesy of artist/photographer Jessica Tremp. It always feels good to work on this website in the hope that some of the messages take hold and with all of us working together, we truly can make a positive difference on this planet.
You can't tell unless you look close, but the hawk is cleaning his claws!
My birds happily greeted me this morning and seemed glad I was back after a three week hiatus. I was sure glad to see them. The stellar jays are around and so are Lois and Clark (my Clark's Nutcrackers) and all my gray jays. They've been feasting on some pecan chips and dried cranberries.
I walked down to the frozen pond near my cabin and whistled for them. Four of the gray jays and one of the stellar jays came. I took over a hundred pictures and downloaded them using a new photo program. I switched from view photos to import and lost all but one photo! Sigh... live and learn, huh? Sure won't do that again! I went back out and clicked a few more but the light was changing... I'll try again tomorrow..
After three weeks on the road, I arrived home yesterday. It was a great trip. I loved spending time with my mom and seeing family I've not seen in years. I'm exhausted though. Three weeks of road travel is tiring! Above are some of my favorite pictures from my trip. The donkeys were from yesterday. They loved the attention and came to the fence to be petted. I wanted to take them with me!

I visited the Tiger Temple in Thailand & later found out it is under investigation for tiger trafficking and animal abuse. Read full story. In 2015 it was raided. More than 100 tigers and protected bird species in Wat Pa Luang Ta Bua, popularly known as the Tiger Temple in Kanchanaburi province were impounded by authorities following complaints that the temple was alleged to engage in illegal wildlife trading.
